There were more selections of the T-shirt of Billy Elliot.

Senangue Abbey with Lavender field_ France

Senanque Abbey_ (Abbaye Norte-Dame de Senanque)
near the village of Gordes, Provence

The lavender started to get bloomed.  What a so lovely!!!

stroll around the village Roussillon_ France

Darrin and I drove down to a little ochre village, Roussillon.

The walking tour map at the entrance of the village

I got so excited about walking the picturesque maze of street.

The lavender bloomed beautifully.

Darrin got some fresh water from the fountain.

This is the one of the magnificent red cliffs.

Darrin getting into the walking path.

This is such a lovely unique site.

Hey cutie!

The yellow, red and brown shades of the earth with the lush green pine trees.
We were, all of sudden, surrounded by a striking contrast color of the nature.

Darrin got some yellow dirt on his cheek.

After the walking tour, we decided to stay a little longer to wonder the village.

Reaching the top of the path, we have a magical view of the countryside on the right hand.

The yellow ochre house is well-matched with the green windows.

I was totally seduced by the beautiful ochre houses in Rousillon.

We also discovered several interesting art gallery and studio in town, and especially this painting caught my eyes for a while.

The cute little benches at the corner of the back street

visit to Chapelle du Rosaire in Vence_ France

The Matisse Chapel is one major thing to see in Vence.

** Description by wikipedia
Chappelle du Rosaire is often referred to as the Matisse Chapel or the Vence Chapel, is a small chapel built for Dominican nuns in the town of Vence on the French Riviera.  It was built and decorated between 1949 and 1951 under a plan devised by Henri Matisse. It houses a number of Matisse originals and was regarded by Matisse himself as his "masterpiece." While the simple white exterior has drawn mixed reviews from casual observers, many regard it as one of the great religious structures of the 20th century.

It's very small but lovely.

The small garden of the church in the back yard has a beautiful view of the town.

The cross on the roof shows his character.  I believe the simplicity is sometimes the best.

The well-polished corridor

Matisse simply used yellow with blue on white.

The most beautiful and cozy altar of the church I've ever seen before

a small window of the stairwell

And this!
I met him or her on the street very near the church.  He(or She) has very unique hair style as a dog fully covered with dreadlocks except for his or her little cute tongue.  This hairy dog reminds me the Jamaican singer-songwriter, Bob Marley.  ^_^

Wow, check this out!   His or her backside was gorgeous as well, ha ha.

pleasant walking tour in Aix_ France

It was another beautiful weather, and we got a good start for a walking tour of the town we have been stayed.

The coffee shop has such a cute witty name, Aix-presso. ^^

A cute little sweet shop

The colorful candy shop, La Maison Du Calisson

A fruit paradise here

This store has a very good selection of the summer felt hat.

The lime-plastered wall under the glare of the Mediterranean sun

Old shade trees and quaint antique buildings everywhere

Hotel de Ville(the City Hall) of Aix

Taking a good rest at Les Duex Garcons on the Cours Mirabeau

Aix is often referred to as The city of a thousand Fountains.

Posing with Darrin by the one of the lovely fountains on the Cours Mirabeau

"Self-photo time, Kim-Chi~!!"

I easily could get a nice and cool water when I felt dry and thirsty, plus it's all free.

The one of my favorite novelists, Romain Gary described his happy remembrances of the college days in Aix-en-provence by his autobiographical novel, PROMISE AT DAWN that he used to bum around the Cours Mirabeau after school and he could see many pretty girls walked around on the street like him in early 1900s.  He often enjoyed bluntly looking at the Swede girl headed off to the market whom the most beautiful girl in the town, as he aggressively munched a salted cucumber leaning alone against a wall.  He said that what he just wanted to do was that eating cucumbers savoring beauty of her not to ask to her 'would you like to have some coffee with me?'

I couldn't see any pretty young Swede girls on the Mirabeau street any more, but I believe Aix is still the best place to spend a leisurely afternoon having some tasty espresso(instead of the salted cucumber).  (^o*)
