The 1st day of Taiwan trip

• Taoyuan international airport  ––––>  • Arrive at Hotel Royal Taipei   –––––>  • Dinner @ Din Tai Fung   –––––>  • Dessert @ Smoothie House   –––––>  • Taking head and neck massage @ Dong-men station  –––––>  • Memorial Hall of Chang Kai-Sek   –––––>  • Back to Hotel

Once we finished up the hotel check-in, the first thing we did was just heading for Din Tai Fung, one of the popular chinese restaurants at Yongkang street for dinner.   It was only about 5pm., but already crowded with lots of people lined up at the shop.

The chefs working hard at the kitchen, most of them are making Xia long bao, a chinese dumpling.  Look at a stack of the dim-sum baskets piled up on the right hand side.

This is one of the popular snack bars on Yongkang street, selling a egg crepe only.  I was fully tempted by the mouth-watering smell of it, but I had to pass this shop due to having a special dessert after a big dinner... OTL

Yah! these are the sweets we had been looking forward for all day!
We tried two different taste of smoothies, one was mango and the other was green tea.  Darrin and I became a big fan of the Taiwanese smoothie and we made extra efforts to have it one more time before heading back to Singapore.

I was completely engrossed in playing with the gum ball machines reminiscent of my childhood.

We found, by some chance, this small massage shop at the corner of the alley after walking into the MRT station, Dong-men.  About 10 minutes massage for only head and neck by a blind masseur/masseuse! @-@   Woohoo~, why not?  Let's just try it.

On the way back to Hotel, we stopped by Memorial Hall of Chang Kai-Sek.

The Memorial Hall was enormously huge.  From the entrance to the main building it took a long walk as we expected.   When we reached up to the main building climbing up the 89 stairs (due to Chang Kai-Sek died at 89), we're pretty exhausted ourself walking.  We set down on the ground and spent the night at the sights of people at leisure.   Darrin got a little buddy to play with for a while.

Knock!  Knock!  Knock!

From the main building, you can get an another beautiful night view.
