The second day in Barcelona, Spain (Dec/10/2013) Part II

 "Parc de Montjuic"

On the funicular railway in Parallel metro station

After Gaudi tour, we headed out to Montjuic Hill located in southeast of Barcelona's city center.

Joan Miro Museum

The museum is situated in Montjuic park, which has a wide range of contemporary art collections of Joan Miro who is a great Catalan genius artist; the more than 14,000 exhibits on display.

One of the compositions by Joan Miro at the courtyard.

Castell de Montjuic

The castle was originally built for the defense of Barcelona in 1640 but often used not only for holding political prisoners, but also for the site of numerous executions during the Spanish Civil War.

On the flat top overlooking the city's harbor

Old military fortifications

Such a peaceful view over the city's harbor from the shallow hill

We had dinner at the Bambarol, a Mediterranean cuisine restaurant, in which it mainly served Catalan style tapas.

The restaurant was not close to the hotel we stayed though, it was totally worth trying.  Most of tables were already occupied when we got there (The good thing was that we had booked a table in advance).  It's well-deserved popularity.   Food was great and the waitress was genuinely friendly and delightful.

Tomato Flat Bread
Patatas Bravas
Marinated Salmon with Avocado
Cecina and Smoked Cheese
Rorcini Creamy Rice
Scrambled Eggs with Black Sausage, Potatoes and Cured Cheese

Especially Patatas Bravas was awesome.  We really enjoyed it.
Heaven!
