We had a plan to go to Xi-tang as one day tour, which is around a hour and an half by car away from Shanghai. Before departure, we decided to have a big meal at Din-tai-fung because we were concerned that we might not able to find a reasonable restaurant for lunch in Xi-tang.
How popular Din-tai-fung is... even morning time on weekdays.
These are what we normally order.
Fried pork with fried rice
Signature dish vegi delight
Pork dumpling xiao long bao
Vegi dumpling
Water spinach with garlic
Cucumber
A imposing skyscraper
on the way back to hotel from Din-tai-fung
Woopah!!
In about an hour after departure from Shanghai, we could see the sign 'XI TANG'.
The driver who took us to Xi-tang and brought us back to Shanghai
The entrance of the town
Let's check the map first.
Umm,, where do we start to walk...
People seem love drying off their personal wash outside. This is actually pedestrian street lots of people pass through all the time. Funny thing is that you could easily see even their undies hanging on the clothesline.
OMG o_o''
Is this one of my favorite Korean dishes, Dduk-bok-gi??
.....
No way..
Bed & Beer ;-)
The baby zucchinis are firmly dangling from the branch.
You guys are so cute!!
The narrow alley of the town
You can pass through this little backstreet only one by one.
Another lovely alley
It was worth taking time to explore the lovely town.
I like this picture for some reason.
Xi-tang is also well known for the movie location of Mission Impossible III.
Simply marvelous!
This ancient water town isn't just simply tourists spot. Someone is still born and live here.
This might well be their hometown, whoa!!
I took a short video with iPhone.
It was quite fun.
